Bank News – In January 2025, Kerala Grameen Bank, a leading Regional Rural Bank (RRB), introduced a fully digital Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan platform, streamlining access to agricultural credit for over 2 lakh farmers across Kerala.
The initiative, praised by experts for its user-friendly interface, allows farmers to apply for loans up to ₹3 lakh online, with approvals within 48 hours. The platform integrates with Aadhaar and land records, reducing paperwork and enhancing transparency.
Backed by NABARD’s refinancing, the bank aims to disburse ₹1,500 crore in KCC loans by March 2025. The move supports small and marginal farmers, boosting productivity in crops like rubber and spices.
Kerala Grameen Bank’s digital push aligns with the government’s financial inclusion goals, setting a model for other RRBs.
